Introduction
In short, a deepfake is a media file—such as an image, video, or audio—manipulated using deep neural networks (DNNs) to deceptively alter a person’s identity. This alteration usually involves a "face swap," where the identity of a source person is transferred onto a target person, creating a video or image that appears to feature the target but actually represents the source. In this new video, the target's facial expressions and head movements remain the same, but they have the appearance of the source.
Deepfake technology has rapidly advanced in recent years, and the number of tools available for creating deepfakes has also increased. As a result, highly realistic and convincing fake videos have begun to emerge.
